Pathum is a talented young cricketer from Sri Lanka. He began his education at Kalutara Vidyalaya National School before moving on to Isipathana College. He was part of the Sri Lanka Under-19s team before making his debut for the national team in 2021 against West Indies.
Since then, Pathum has become a regular member of the Sri Lankan team and has proven himself to be a valuable asset.
He has demonstrated his versatility by excelling in all forms of the game, and his performance in the 2022 Asia Cup – where he scored 55 runs against Pakistan – is just one example of his skill. Overall, Pathum is a promising player with a bright future ahead of him.
International Career:
Pathum Nissanka’s T20I debut was against the West Indies on March 3, 2021. He scored 39 runs in the match, before getting stumped out by Pooran.
Seven days later, he played his first ODI match for Sri Lanka against the West Indies on March 10, 2021.
The same month, on March 21, Nissanka made his Test debut for Sri Lanka against the West Indies. In the second innings of the match, he showcased his brilliance by scoring an impressive 103 runs.
On February 09, 2024, Pathum Nissanka scored a brilliant double century (210*), becoming the only Sri Lankan batter to score a double century in an ODI.
